About
My name is Monique Davis I was born in the beautiful state of New Jersey. At the age of two my mother decided to move to Jacksonville Florida. In the city of Jacksonville I was blessed to become a mother of three beautiful children one beautiful queen (Tanisha) and two handsome kings (Christopher) & (Domonique).
I also have five amazing grandchildren three queens and two kings who I love dearly. I lived in Jacksonville up until the age of 50. In the year of 2019 GOD allowed me to move to the state of New York, in that state I met my handsome charming, sweet, strong but sensitive husband (James) who stole my heart. He loved the hurt away and reminded me of who I was when I completely forgot.
Who said that chivalry was dead, Never! While living in the state of New York I became part of a ministry that I love dearly, but becoming a part of that ministry I experience something that many women in church communities sadly struggle with and that is low self-esteem and judgment.
There were man-made rules of how women should dress. You couldn’t wear dresses above your knee, dresses or skirts with splits, fitted dresses (sweater dresses), some even judged you if you wore pants. Please don’t wear red lipstick your Jezebel lol. What hurts the most is that these were supposed to be Christian people representing Christ without judgment. I was constantly talked about and criticized by older and younger religious Christians for the way I was dressing. The judgment began to affect me, had me second-guessing myself, they tried to make me feel less than because of what I wore. They did not like the way that I expressed myself through my fashion and clothing.
One Sunday morning me and my husband were getting ready for church, and this particular sweater dress I had on, I asked my husband how did the dress look? Immediately, without hesitation he said “don’t worry about what other people think, your dress is not too short, it is not too tight, it looks good on you and you look sexy”! And in that moment something clicked in my spirit. That moment became the birth of both sexy and saved, and the brand name unique apparell.
I am not your average church girl. I am unique I am royalty and God loves me just the way that I am. God’s word says in Psalms 139:14 that “we are fearfully and wonderfully made in God’s image.” God created us women to be feminine, beautiful, bold and confident within ourselves.
What makes unique apparel different is the strong visual message & language behind the brand! Every piece of clothing is meant to make GOD’S people feel bold, confident and spiritually powered while building women’s self-confidence to be feminine, beautiful, bold, confident, sexy and saved and still represent JESUS CHRIST, knowing that we as women don’t have to shrink ourselves to fit religious expectations.
This brand is more than clothing it is healing from within, it is confidence it is identity is faith without fear, and it is freedom from judgment knowing that it is okay to be sexy, saved and unique! Stay tuned there is more to come!
