My name is Monique Davis I was born in the beautiful state of New Jersey. At the age of 2 my mother decided to move to Jacksonville, Florida. While living in Jacksonville I was blessed to become the mother of 3 beautiful children, one beautiful queen (Tanisha) and 2 kings (Christopher & Domonique). I also have 5 amazing grandchildren that GOD gifted me with 3 queens and 2 kings who I love dearly, I lived in Jacksonville up until the age of 50. In the year of 2019 GOD allowed me to move to the state of New York where I met my handsome, charming, sweet husband my king James. He loved the hurt away and reminded me of who I was when I completely forgot.

Who said chivalry was dead, NEVER! Whie living in the state of New York I became apart of a ministry that I love dearly, however, in that ministry I experienced something that many women in church communities today sadly struggle with and that is low self esteem and judgment. There were man-made rules of how women should dress, you couldn’t wear dresses or skirts above your knees or with splits, dresses that were fitted such as sweater dresses, couldn’t wear pants, and please don’t wear nose piercing your going to hell, lol.

They were very judgmental, what hurts the most is these were supposed to be Christians who judged constantly. I was talked about, criticized by older and younger GODLY people, (supposed to be) anyway. They didn’t like the way that I express myself through my fashion and clothing. One Sunday I was getting ready for church and the dress I had on was so pretty (sweater dress like Erica Campbell’s white dress). So, I turned to my husband and asked how did the dress look? Immediately without hesitation he said, “don’t worry about what people think, your dress is not to short, not to tight and it looks good on you, and you look sexy”! And in that moment, something clicked in my spirit. The words Sexy & Saved was birth and behind it the brand name Unique Apparell.

I’m not your average church girl! I am unique in my own way and GOD loves me just the way I am. GOD’s word tells me that I am fearfully and wonderfully made in his image. GOD created us women to be feminine, beautiful bold and confident within ourselves.

What makes Unique Apparell different is the strong visual, message and language behind it. Every piece of clothing is meant to make GOD’S people feel bold, confident and spiritually empowered while building women’s self-confidence. We as women, don’t have to shrink ourselves to fit religious expectations to know that we still can be sexy & saved and love JESUS CHRIST! This brand is more than clothing, it is healing from within, it is confidence, our identity, faith without fear and it is freedom from judgment knowing that it is okay to be SEXY, UNIQUE and SAVED!
